Hematite
Hematite is an important
basic crystal for today. This black to silvery black crystal is very hard and
can stand up to daily use. Because it is found in most parts of the world, it is
readily available. Hematite is an iron oxide material that can with some effort
be magnetized. This differs from magnetite, which is also an iron oxide but is
magnetic in its natural state. Many use hematite for grounding. A single sample
will link the root charka to the Earth. A pair, one held in each hand, will
balance the individual while grounding. It is a stone of protection and
strength.
Hematite
is used in association with the blood and nervous systems. It can be employed to
aid in the relief of anemia, hemophilia, menstrual cramps, and nose bleeds.
Hematite can relieve disease in the liver, kidneys and a weak cardio-vascular
system. It is used to draw out body tension, fevers, reduces tumor masses and
cools the body. It can relieve leg cramps and insomnia; and broken bones heal
quickly with the application of Hematite. The American Indians used Hematite to
curb alcohol abuse. Hematite can enhance our mental capability. The iron in our
blood is influenced by Hematite. In the brain it calms our mental state that
leads to improved memory, concentration, mental focus, and more effective mental
processes. Self-confidence is also increased while decreasing negativity and
releasing anger. One could say that Hematite brings order to mental chaos. It is
also excellent for maintaining focus in meditation.
